Stand-alone necker for one or both can ends with carbide (Vidia) tooling, 8 or 16 stations, 100 to 1,200 cans per minute.
The necker reduces the body diameter at one or both ends so the can takes a smaller, lighter end. Tooling is made entirely of carbide steel and only the external rings change for a different tinplate thickness on the same diameter.
Bodies are necked gradually across 8 or 16 stations and ejected positively from the tooling. The machine drops to standby speed automatically when the line stops.
