Cevolani Combican Food BNA 489 / BNA 480 / RBNA 504 / RBNA 512

Combined necking, beading and flanging for food and pet food bodies in one three- or four-station machine, 250 to 1,200 cans per minute, on tinplate from 0.10 mm.

Combican Food replaces separate necker, beader and flanger with a single machine that carries the can inside the machine base from station to station. Fewer transfers between units means fewer places to jam or dent a can, and a smaller footprint.

What it does on the line

Welded bodies enter from the oven conveyor and pass through necking (carbide dies, one or both ends), beading (up to 16 chucks for a gradual profile) and flanging (counter-rotating spinning rolls, whole edge at once); the four-station RBNA models add a second necking or a seaming operation. Standby speed is set automatically when the line stops.

Design features

  • Lower can cost through tinplate downgauging, from 0.10 mm on the 52 to 105 mm models.
  • Rapid size changeover; maintenance and adjustment reduced to a minimum.
  • Automatic reduced standby speed during line stops.
  • PLC control with operator display; centralized lubrication with oil recovery.
  • Necking: carbide dies, positive ejection of the can from the tooling.
  • Beading: consistent profile, strong rolls, adjustable rail, 16 chucks for a very gradual operation.
  • Flanging: counter-rotating spinning rolls; ceramic rollers and SPIE flanging on request.
  • Standard commercial components; common wear parts stocked by Cevolani.
